Last Day Of Forest School Training……for now……

We’ve come to the end of our first block of Forest School Training and what an amazing week it’s been. We’ve learnt so much, made some great contacts and shared ideas with other amazing professionals. We’ll be back in October for outdoor first aid training and assessment week in November!

Today we learnt about emotional intelligence and our task was to make ‘nests’ in an individual style and the group had to guess which style we were displaying (for example a ‘self smart’ child would go away from the group and make the nest himself). It gave a great insight into how children learn and how we can adapt activities so that all children are fully engaged to get the most out of their learning.

This afternoon we had the opportunity to explore more of the wooded grounds and discuss emergency procedures, before finally practicing more knotting and lashing and making our wooden stars to take home.

All in all we really have had a fabulous week and can’t wait to put what we have learnt into practice!
